Collectin and Mannose binding lectin are extracellular soluble C-type lectins. Mannose binding lectin is synthesized in the liver and is an acute phase protein. Collectin is produced by a range of tissues including the liver for the serum and other tissues for epithelial surfaces e.g. kidney renal tubules.
